Neon Drift Circuit

Neon Drift Circuit isn't chasing realism and it's better for it. The cars slide around corners like they're on ice, and mastering the drift is the whole game. Tilt or on-screen steering both work; we preferred touch controls for the finer corners.

Tracks are short loops through synthwave-tinted cities, and the sense of speed is genuinely thrilling once you learn where to let the back end swing out. The soundtrack is all pulsing synths and it fits perfectly. There's a chunk of unlockable cars that handle differently, which kept us coming back.

It's not deep, and it doesn't pretend to be. But for a five-minute burst of speed on a phone, it nails the feel. A couple of the later tracks felt a bit samey, which is the only thing keeping our score down.
