How we actually review a mobile game
People sometimes assume review sites just skim a trailer and rephrase the store description. We don't, and we want to be clear about how we work so you can trust the numbers.
Every game gets played on our own devices, under normal conditions — patchy wifi, interruptions, the lot. We aim for at least a few hours, more for anything with depth, before anyone writes a word. If a game is short, we finish it.
We talk through scores as a group rather than one person deciding. That way a single bad mood doesn't tank a game unfairly, and a single fan doesn't over-hype one. Disagreements make it into the writing sometimes, which we think is honest.
We don't take payment for coverage or scores. When we recommend something, it's because we'd tell a friend the same thing. That's the whole business, really.
